These terms and conditions may be subject to change at any time by Greatway Charters and Tours Pty Ltd, trading as Australian Getaway Tours.
Validity
All bookings with Greatway Charters and Tours Pty Ltd Trading as Australian Getaway Tours are made according to these terms and conditions.
Tour Operation
Each booking is conditional on Australian Getaway Tours securing the minimum number of bookings required to operate the tour. Where sufficient numbers cannot be achieved, Australian Getaway Tours reserves the right to cancel a scheduled departure. Where a tour is cancelled prior to the departure date, Australian Getaway Tours will use all reasonable endeavours to offer the nearest possible alternative tour (subject to a refund or payment to cover any tour price difference). If this is not acceptable, a refund of the tour price including deposit will be honoured.
Special Requirements
Australian Getaway Tours welcomes passengers with disabilities or special needs. If assistance is required on tour, we do require that passengers are accompanied by a companion capable of providing all necessary assistance. Any special requirements must be advised at time of booking.
With limited staff on a coach, we regret that we cannot provide individual assistance for walking, dining, getting on and off motorcoaches or other transportation vehicles or other personal needs.
On some extended tours, wheelchairs and walkers might not be able to be carried due to space limitations. Please enquire if this may affect you.
Health + Fitness
Australian Getaway Tours will not allow passengers to commence nor continue their tour if their physical or mental condition is or becomes unsafe to themselves or other passengers.
Any person who smokes on the tour coach will be expelled from the coach and tour without further warning. Toilet equipped Coaches have working smoke detectors. Greatway Charters and Tours Pty Ltd, trading as Australian Getaway Tours will not be held liable for any expense what so ever as a result of a passenger being required to leave the tour because of smoking on the coach.
For safety and enjoyment, passengers should be in suitable physical condition to participate in activities according to the tour. Some tours may include walks which vary in degree of difficulty from moderate to difficult. Passengers need to be aware of the high temperatures which may be experienced in the “Outback”.
Medical Equipment: Please note that in some remote outback locations electric power may not be available 24 hours per day. Passengers are advised to bring take adequate medication including a wide brim hat, sunscreen, insect replant (and spare prescriptions for essential medication) for remote travel and emergencies.
Special Diets
Passengers requiring special diets such as vegetarian or gluten free must inform Australian Getaway Tours at time of reservation and reconfirm their request with the Australian Getaway Tours Driver/Host upon tour commencement. Most catering for our tours is provided by other parties including restaurants, cafes and the onsite kitchens at the accommodation. We will inform all meal providers of special passenger diets where advice is needed, however Australian Getaway Tours cannot guarantee such requests will be met in all instances.
Pricing
All prices are quoted in Australian currency ($AUD) and include tour preparation, operation costs and GST where applicable. Prices include all on-tour coach travel, some airport transfers at arrival and departure point of each tour; meals, accommodation, sightseeing and admissions as per the itinerary. Prices may include one or more airfares as shown.
Not included are meals not specified in the itinerary, drinks, laundry, optional activities and items of a personal nature.
Changes to third party travel providers (air, rail, sea or road) schedules may require additional overnight accommodation at either commencement or completion of the tour, which is at passengers’ own expense.
Tours, as well as included and optional activities, are all subject to availability, operational and seasonal factors.
Australian Getaway Tours reserves the right to vary the advertised or printed price to cover any significant increases in air fare, rail fare, fuel price or other tour related costs.
Changes to the Itinerary
Australian Getaway Tours reserves the right to alter or change the accommodation, meal providers, carriers or vessels at any time for any reason; and cancel or alter the itinerary and or tour at any time without notice as Australian Getaway Tours considers necessary for any valid reason whatsoever. This includes road, weather or traffic conditions, and non-performance of suppliers, industrial action, operational conditions and requirements.
Australian Getaway Tours may replace, suspend or cancel any tour inclusion (or option) where that tour inclusion is not available or (in the opinion of Greatway Tours), it has become unadvisable, unsafe or unsuitable.
Australian Getaway Tours is not the provider of accommodations, attractions, travel by air, rail, water, third-party tours (whether included or optional) and most meals.
Australian Getaway Tours have used information supplied by the providers of attractions, activities, meals and accommodation venues and have endeavoured to ensure the information contained in brochures is correct at the time of printing. Australian Getaway Tours accept no responsibility for accuracy of information provided by other parties.
During local or national holidays, certain facilities such as museums and restaurants, sightseeing tours and shopping may be limited or not available.
The coach crew retain the right to alter the itinerary in a manner to the best overall benefit for all concerned. The coach crew will liaise with Greatway Charters and Tours, trading as Australian Getaway Tours management according to the circumstances and extent of tour changes. Should an extension been needed from extreme weather, fire event or any reason where the dates are extended. Greatway Charters and Tours, trading as Australian Getaway Tours will not be liable for any accommodation or meals outside the advertised duration of the tour.
Australian Getaway Tours maintains strict standards of safety and reliability of their vehicles at all times, however, in rare cases mechanical failure may occur. Passengers are assured that every effort is made to minimise any small inconvenience experienced while we utilise the large network of repair facilities at our disposal, Australia wide.
Australian Getaway Tours will endeavour to contact clients in the event of industrial action effecting air, rail or other tour related transportation. However if contact is not made passengers should phone our office to finalise alternative arrangements.
Deposits + Final Payment
A non-refundable, non-transferable $250.00 deposit or the amount advertised for that tour is payable within 7 days from date of booking. If no deposit amount is advertised then the deposit is $250.00. Bookings will be automatically cancelled if this fee (deposit) is not received by Australian Getaway Tours within 7 days of the booking. All deposits to another carriers are non-transferrable or refundable or as per that carriers terms and conditions.
Final payment for tour costs must be paid no later than 60 days prior to travel. For bookings made less than 60 days prior to departure, full payment is required within 48 hours for confirmation. It is the passenger’s responsibility to pay the tour price by the due date. Please ensure payments are made within the specified time limits to ensure that bookings are not automatically cancelled.
Payment means all funds are cleared funds with Australian Getaway Tours by due date.
Cancellation Fees
Where Australian Getaway Tours book travel on behalf of clients on other carriers other than those Australian Getaway Tours include in their published itinerary, payments made are subject to the cancellation conditions of the respective carriers.
Cancelling an Australian Getaway Tours Tour:
All early bird bookings cancelations = full refund – deposit, and – Commission
120 to 60 days before departure =full refund – deposit
60 – 40 days before departure =full refund –deposit – 50% of balance
39 – 30 days before departure =full refund – deposit – 75% of balance
29 days or less before departure = No refund unless seat can be re sold then 44 – 60 days before departure applies
Please note: transferring to another date is treated as a cancellation + cancellation fees will apply.
Travel Insurance
Australian Getaway Tours strongly recommend passengers take out travel insurance to cover against unforeseen circumstances, including cancellation.
Baggage Allowance
Due to workplace health and safety laws and in accordance with the airlines, passengers are entitled to carry one suitcase per person not exceeding a weight of 20kg. Personal items such as make-up, cameras etc should be carried in a travel bag which is not to exceed 7kg per person. Where possible use soft bags not cases. Passengers are to ensure that luggage meets the weight requirements. Any overweight baggage will NOT be loaded onto a carriage supplied by Greatway Charters and Tours Pty Ltd, trading as Australian Getaway Tours.
Young Travellers
A child is classified as 12 years and younger and children under 7 years of age are not recommended. Child prices are subject to sharing with sole use or twin sharing adults only. Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Please note some tours are not suitable for children.
Responsibility
Holiday travel and activities are subject to some degree of risk. Passenger participation in tours operated or offered by Australian Getaway Tours may incur certain risks and dangers which are beyond the operator’s control including, but not limited to the hazards of travelling in remote areas, travel by boat, train, automobile, aircraft or other means of transportation, the forces of nature and accident or illness in remote regions without means of rapid evacuation or medical facilities.
Australian Getaway Tours and any carrier companies will not have any liability regarding provision of medical care or the adequacy of any care that may be rendered. It is understood that Australian Getaway Tours will use their best efforts to ensure that adequate measures are taken. Passengers are encouraged to make their own enquiries regarding conditions and safety warnings in relation to the destination they are travelling to.
Australian Getaway Tours finalise all arrangements for these tours upon the express condition that they cannot accept responsibility or liability for any delays, accidents, injury or damage caused by the airlines, rail, express coaches or any other service the company acts as agents on behalf of arising out of the provision of, or failure to provide these services.
Rooming Arrangements
Rooms are allocated as per your booking Singles rooms for singles and all other rooms as per your requirements where they can be met. We will not arrange room sharing.
Enjoyment
Australian Getaway Tours seek to give travellers an enjoyable holiday experience and continue to build our proud reputation for doing just that. If a customer feels disappointed with their experience, Australian Getaway Tours would like to receive their feedback so we can work to improve what we do where we can. However we cannot accept liability for any loss of enjoyment whatsoever and howsoever experienced by the passengers for circumstances beyond the company’s control.
Translating + Interpreting
Australian Getaway Tours welcomes people of all languages, however we only speak + write in English.
All communications to Australian Getaway Tours must be in English. Any person travelling on Australian Getaway Tours either must have a sound knowledge of English or have a travel companion who can speak English on their behalf. The travel companion must twin share with this person. Australian Getaway Tours do not supply travel companions. They must be a ticket holder under the same terms and conditions of all travellers.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR TRAVEL ON AUSTRALIAN GETAWAY TOURS COACHES & COACHES SUPPLIES BY AUSTRALIAN GETAWAY TOURS FOR ALL SPORTING AND SOCIAL GROUP TRAVEL. ON SOME COACHES FOOD & DRINKS MAY BE BANNED, IT IS THE “COACH CAPTAIN’S CALL”.
Applicable with NO exemptions.
Any smoking equipment including, Vaping. Pipes, cigarettes, any flame making equipment must be carried in a container under the coach in the storage bins.
Personal bags and belongings (except personal carry on and phones, electrical devices and medical needs) must be stowed in the luggage compartment under the coach at all times.
No stomping on the floor, banging on windows. Seats or ceiling of the coach.
Any damage to the coach will be recovered from the charter organiser, any alcohol related sickness will incur a $750.00 cleaning fee payable by the Charter Organiser.
Whilst traveling to and from the venue, meal stops and pit stops as agreed to with the Coach Captain.
If food & alcohol drinks are allowed in the carriage compartment of the coach for consumption on the coach / or to take away from the coach at journeys end. The following will apply: $500.00 cash cleaning bond fully refunded at journeys end if coach is unsoiled.
No glass drink containers. Exception of baby bottles with the babies’ carer.
Water and or soft drinks: unopened bottles to be carried onto the coach.
Wine: No cask wine on the coach at any time.
Beer: Maximum beer strength is mid strength beer in unopened cans only, to be carried onto the coach.
Spirits: Pre mixed spirits in unopened cans only, to be carried onto the coach.
End of travel
All food left overs and wrapping must be removed from the coach at journeys end. Please put all empty and unwanted drink cans into the rubbish bags provided.
