Day 1:

Departing Toowoomba at 7.30am we travel though Oakey + then on to Dalby. Our roadside morning tea will be served on the “Tara turn off.  A tour down the main street of Tara will give you a chance to stretch your legs + explore this beautiful outback town. Before lunch at the Meandarra Hotel we will visit their RSL Museum. A very well presented collection of war memorabilia + of course their famous aircraft. We must show you Monty’s garage + the end of the rail line at Glenmorgan!                             Surat is our next stop at their Cobb & Co Museum. Here we see a Cobb & Co horse drawn carriage – the last Cobb & Co run in Australia ended at Surat.                           Before you settle in for the night at Roma’s Motel Carnarvon, we’ll take you on a town tour with a local guide which has been designed just for Australian Getaway Tours. You’ll see the stained glass windows in a church + enjoy an evening show at the Big Rig – the story of gas at Roma. We’ll then take you somewhere special for an evening meal.

 Day 2:

Departing Roma after breakfast + off to Carnarvon Gorge. Your accommodation at Carnarvon Gorge Wilderness Lodge for the next 3 nights. The Lodge has been personally assessed by our tour researches. It’s not only the closest to the magnificent Carnarvon Gorge, it has well-appointed safari cabins which are nestled on a picturesque landscape that mixes outback charm in perfect comfort…oh and the food!

After our midday lunch we have a 20 minute helicopter ride over Molyembar Gorge (near Carnarvon Gorge). Now it’s time to kick back + relax until our evening meal at the Lodges’ restaurant.

Day 3:

After breakfast we have a 3.5 hour wilderness walk at Carnarvon Gorge. There are 8 river crossings, so please wear good walking shoes + bring sunscreen, hat, sunglasses + water bottle.

We will return to the Carnarvon Wilderness Lodge for our evening meal.

 Day 4:

We have been pretty busy taking in the wonderful scenery and enjoying nature at its best. Today is your day / choose your own adventure / chill out / brag to your family + friends about your adventures so far.

With the shade of the tall eucalyptus trees, relax by the creek with the sounds of the peaceful running water. Read a book with the cheeky kangaroos for company or take your lunch and explore a new walking track.

Make sure you bring your bathers / togs / cozzies / swim suits and have a splash in the swimming pool. There are many more options and they are all yours. Relax, recharge, and enjoy having fun!

Day 5:

Departing the Gorge after breakfast, we take the scenic journey to Rolleston. We then turn right on the Dawson Highway + continue onto Banana for lunch (the Home of the Big Yellow Bull).

We head south down the Leichardt Highway to Miles where we will stay at The Swagman Inn. The Swagman Inn will also host our dinner + breakfast.

Day 6:

After breakfast we will set off for the Miles Village Museum. After this full morning of activities we will have our midday lunch at the Rose Café. We then head back to Toowoomba at approximately 5pm.
